Our sliding doors have been tested and passed the severe weather ratings to BS6375 Part 1 Class C. 28mm sealed glazing, argon filled toughened glass units have a U value of 1.1.
Naturally we test our systems to extremes, wind pressure, water pressure and gusting are three standard tests, all passed, so rest comfortably. Additionally to keep you warm the thermal polymide breaks in our system comply with the building regulations document ‘L’ which calls for ‘U’ values of 1.8 or better which our system easily exceeds.
Conscious of your safety our glazing is designed to meet and indeed exceed British Building Regulations. Each sealed double glazed unit used across our range of sliding doors is manufactured from toughened safety glass to BS6206. This is significantly stronger than normal glass but critically in the unlikely event of a breakage it will shatter into harmless fragments. An inert gas, Argon, fills the units thus improving insulation and reducing heat loss. With a U Value of 1.1 you’ll be well insulated from the heat of high summer and the cold in the depth of winter. The glazing and system complies with Part L of Building regulations which covers thermal efficiency.
